The World Desert Oasis project or Al Ain desert safari was one of the 76 projects approved by the Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council as part of a major development plan to improve tourism, industry and quality of life for residents across the emirate.

The World Desert Oasis, which covers approximately 11 million square meters , will be constructed at the Zoo and Aquarium Public Institutiton of Al Ain. One completed, it is expected to offer an African safari experience, oasis and botanical gardens,  children’s discovery area, an amphitheatre and a safari which is intended to feature the wildlife in its natural environment.

Other projects which has been approved are the Wahat Al Zaweya  which is a 3.8 million square metre residential and commercial development project and the Al Ghaniema development  which entails the construction of 275 villas for Emiratis.

Furthermore, Mirfa City will get four retail and residential complex comprising of 126 apartments and 10 villas for its mixed-use waterfront development. An aeropace related project at Al Ain airport also received the green light.

A luxury development called Maryah Plaza on Al Maryah Island was approved and the construction is expected to commence soon to make it a world-class shopping destination.

On the other hand, a low-rise building called Al Qurm View will soon to rise on Reem Island, with the view of the mangroves in Shams Abu Dhabi.
