During the inauguration by King Mohammed VI to the wastewater treatment plant and treated water reuse system, it was highlighted that this project is part of an immense coastal clean-up program from Cap Malabata in Asilah, which also entails the construction of several wastewater treatment plants.

The accomplishment of the project will enable the processing of a volume of 11,000 m3 / d (140,000 population equivalent) intercepted wastewater, promoting irrigation and watering green spaces and golf fields on an area of approximately 100 hectares / j.

A station which will have a tertiary treatment capacity of 5,000 m3 / day, is the first phase of a project that will allow the  treatment of wastewater from the southern area of Tangier from the Houara zone in Asilah to water an area of around 200 hectares / day and treat 16,000 m3 / d of wastewater in 2017.
