For the first half of 2014, the Etisalat revealed significant development in revenues and its subscriber base. The group which included the participation of Vivendi Telecom in Morocco in May 2014 stated that its merged results for the second quarter were $ 12.6 billion UAE dirhams, up 27% annual.
A result judged as very optimistic following the acquisition by the group. Furthermore, the number of subscribers of the operator has recorded a jump of 27% over a year and has achieved the end of June, after consolidation with Morocco Telecom 183 million subscribers. According to Eissa Al Suwaidi, President of Etisalat, this notable and stable operator performance reflects its ambition to become the first group emerging telecommunications market. Chairman of Etisalat attributes his good results including redemption of Vivendi Telecom in Morocco.
They believe this attainment adds immense value to Etisalat and its shareholders, in addition to other key success factors they have seen in various markets. They will change the African telecommunications environment, according to the Etisalat president.
