The endurance characters of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) that are established in the UAE are much higher than international standards.
This report was according to Director of Strategy and Policy Division, Alexander Williams, at Dubai SME during the convention.
According to Director Alexander Williams, the most significant matter met by any new SME that’s struggling to survive in year or so after arrangement is the non-availability of financial support.
The director added that to make safe required funding and always take on an investor or a partner on board. He also averred that even though the breakdown rate of SMEs in the country could be on par with international standards, the buoyancy observed here is much higher compared to somewhere else in the world.
Moreover UAE and particularly Dubai proffers an outstanding prospect for the increasing number of SMEs to establish and run their industry relaxed. SMEs indeed are the lifeline of the economy.
There are over 200,000 SMEs in the UAE and majority of them or nearly 45% of them are listed in Dubai.
Yet an association like Emirates airlines performs with the support base of about 3000 SMEs.
According to Arjan Oude Kotte, Director Small and Medium Business, Microsoft Middle East and Africa that though there is unwillingness among SMEs to take on latest technological solutions, his own organization has seen a good upsurge in numbers.
