The latest Global Competitiveness Report for 2013-2014 shows that United Arab Emirates leads the ranking among Arab Countries for the Quality of over-all infrastructure category positioning on 4th rank globally.
UAE ranked 1st place for worldwide quality of roads as extensive and efficient and took the 3rd highest slot in government procurement of advance technology products.
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) CEO said that such achievements of remarkable ranking will support Dubai bids for Expo 2020.
“These achievements are in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Dewa contributes effectively to supporting Dubai’s Expo 2020 bid by implementing The Dubai Integrated Energy Strategy 2030 as well as its own Strategic Plan and the other relevant plans,” he said.
At the same time, the Emirate of Dubai who is currently bidding to host the prestigious Expo 2020 outstand an infrastructure study conducted by Mercer Consultants. According to the study, Dubai throned for the second time because of its state-of-the-art infrastructure topped by electricity grids and water networks.
Related to this, DEWA created a new remarkable global achievement stealing the fourth place at the global level and the first place in the Middle East and North of Africa region in ease of getting electricity according to the Doing Business Report 2014 published recently by World Bank.
