A daily British newspaper has included the Hassan II Grand Mosque in Casablanca and the Koutoubia Mosque in Marrakech in the world’s most stunning mosques.
According to the report, the Hassan II Grand Mosque, in reference with late King of Morocco Hassan II, won the seventh spot out of twenty-five mosques. This is due to the fact that the grand mosque is the home of the world’s tallest minaret measured 210 meters.
The Hassan II Grand Mosque is the world’s third largest mosque; it is the only establishment in Morocco where non-Muslims are welcome to enter. It is located on the seafront in Casablanca, and the ocean floor is visible through the glass floor in the hall.
The Koutoubia Mosque in Marrakech made it to the 25th spot. The mosque, which is constructed next to Djemaa El-Fna Square in the center of the Red City, possesses one of the most complex and remarkably ornamented minarets.
On the other hand, Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque in Isfahan, Iran got the top spot as the most beautiful mosque in the world. Mosques in Turkey, Egypt, and Jerusalem and in Saudi Arabia also got a spot in the list.
