Agadir: The President and CEO of French group CMA CGM, one of the international leaders of container shipping declared that “Morocco is a
strategic market” for the group, which aspires to additional increase its activities in other destinations on all sides of the world.
They want to widen presence in Morocco and supplementary destinations, as well as Canada, the Baltic, Scandinavia, the Black Sea, North America and the Middle East. This was mentioned during a reception in honor of several businessmen and economic operators in the Agadir region.
It was recalled that the affiliation between Morocco and the group dates back to 1983 and is consolidated by the purchase in 2007 of COMANAV Cargo, as well as the attainment of shares in the harbors of Casablanca and Tangier Med.
CMA CGM is prepared to make its network accessible in Morocco which is interested in escalating in West Africa, adding that this group which associates Morocco to over 400 destinations throughout the world is prepared to establish direct services to other destinations if Moroccan exporters have the required quantity.
In 1978, it was founded in Marseille, the CMA CGM Group is present in more than 150 countries through its network of over 650 agencies, with more than 18,000 employees worldwide (4,700 in France).
