Road projects worth Dh1.74 billion approved under the initiative of the UAE President.
The goal of the projects is to increase efficiency of vehicular passage and link sections of the country with an advanced road network.
Included in these projects is the construction of a 42-kilometer road that will connect the Sheikh Khalifa road from Maliha by way of Madam and reaching Al Shuwaib. The Dh660 million roads is expected to have three lanes in each direction, eight flyovers and three bridges, as well as improvements to the road from the Sharjah boundary to the Al Shuwaib roundabout.
Furthermore, a 60 kilometer road was also approved that will link Wadi Al Qura with the road heading to Lahbab roundabout to Nizwa main road. The road will traverse the emirate of Sharjah up to Lahbab roundabout in Dubai which connects the eastern and western regions.
Highways leading to Hatta will be improved to accommodate more vehicles during rush time and upgrade the 26 kilometer Dubai-Hatta highway will also receive upgrades.
