The Roads and Transport Authority revealed the finishing point of construction works on Phase 5 of Jebel Ali-Lehbab Road Widening and Improvement Project which could expand to the creation of an alternate road to Jebel Ali and Abu Dhabi.
This phase of the project comprised carrying out new development works in a sector of the road that expands 6 kilometres, according to the executive director of the Traffic Roads Agency at RTA. It was also stated that beginning from the interchange of the Jebel Ali-Lehbab Road within the Dubai – Al Ain Road, broadening the road from 2-4 lanes in both directions along with concretes in the direction of Hatta roundabout.
Safety means, ground marking, traffic signals, lighting, rain water drainage and sewage works have also been commenced on the road. The Jebel Ali-Lehbab Road will open to the community in October 2014.
The project’s benefits include provision of alternative roads for motorists heading to Jebel Ali Industrial Area and Free Zone and neighboring areas, and to those who are heading to Abu Dhabi and vice versa without driving through the business district.
