The city of Guelmim hosted the 4th edition of the Regional Agricultural Fair in Guelmim-Smara with the participation of exhibitors from various sectors and agricultural products. This fair received strong visitor traffic with the purpose of discovering the potential of the region and the projects of associations and cooperatives operating in solidarity agriculture.

This event features an intended space to showcase local professional skills, support the commercialization of products, an opportunity to showcase local products and all agricultural activities in the region and offer a platform for exchange between national and professional players in the livestock sector.

Initiated by the Regional Directorate of Agriculture and the Regional Chamber of Agriculture in collaboration with the Province of Guelmim-Smara under the theme “The value of agricultural products: a guarantee to improve the income of professional organizations and promote self-employment “, this edition saw the presentation of the strategy of the Ministry for development and promotion of local products, considering the latest research in the national and international agricultural sector and new future directions for applied research for the implementation of the national strategy for local products at the regional level.

The event offered visitors several booths exhibiting products of associations and cooperatives, including cheese produced from camel milk and meat charcuterie, couscous, medicinal and aromatic plants and agricultural machines. Giving importance in the region’s livestock, an animal pole was devoted to the exhibition of the best livestock animals like camels, sheep and goats. Thematic training and workshops for the benefit of women’s group and farmers in the region were also on the program.

This event was also marked by the presence of financial institutions, specialized consulting firms and input suppliers of renowned companies, meant to support the local farmers, agribusiness operators and new promoters at the region.
