The world’s tallest commercial building to be, Dubai 2020, will enclose Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture as the architect, whereas WATG believes the function of bringing the master plan. The skyscraper, whose elevation is yet to be disclosed, will be situated at the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) Free Zone.
The founder of AS+GG based in Chicago, Adrian Smith, has been linked with the world’s tallest buildings, the Burj Khalifa while at SOM and the Kingdom Tower, recently under structure in Jeddah.
WATG was one of four worldwide destination creation companies that contributed in DMCC’s Burj 2020 District master plan design competition commence in July 2014. Other distinguished and remarkable WATG projects comprise Paradise Island-Bahamas, Atlantis-Dubai, Emirates Palace-Abu Dhabi, and the Grand Hyatt-Kuala Lumpur.
According to the Executive Chairman of DMCC Ahmad Bin Sulayem, designing a top-notch and outstanding destination of this scale will put recent levels of competence and metropolitan sustainability and certain that their partners, in bringing the ‘Burj 2020 District’ and tower, will generate a new address for the international business society of the future in Dubai.
The Burj 2020 District will further approximately 1.3 million square metre capacity to the DMCC Free Zone.
