Upcoming projects related to services and investments for infrastructure were announced by the Ministry of Public Works this year.
The Ministry is on track of developing 11 projects, 10 projects are part of its investment plan and one which requires funding from other companies.
The ministry is currently on the move for the construction of 26 housing complexes and 148 individual houses across the UAE in addition to the six housing complexes and 11 stand-alone houses in 2015. These developments aim to provide sufficient housing for its citizens and ensuring their satisfaction.
Furthermore, seven new roads are in the study stage which are planned to be constructed in Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah for a value of Dh780 million. The projects are expected to relieve too much traffic in the given regions.
The said road projects entails Sharjah-Al Dhaid road; restoration of Al Ittihad road in Ras Al Khaimah and extending it with 14 kilometers; and the expansion of Emirates Road from Al Tuwain and its connection to the Ras Al Khaimah Ring Road.
Six new roads are scheduled to be completed by this year, consisting the second phase of improving the Umm Al Quwain access, which would cost a total of Dh 111 million.
Last year, the ministry accomplished nine road projects, majority are for improvement for existing roads in Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Dibba and others.
Nine fundamental projects were completed in 2015. Six projects were brought about by the Ministry’s Investment program involving the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Health.
