A new transport strategy was announced by the National Bureau of Railways (ONCF) as it awaits the massive surge of travelers in the summer months.
The National Bureau of Railways (ONCF) launched the plan to release a capacity of 235 trains per day for the Casablanca-Fez travelers through the additional train from Casablanca to Fez covering the time period between 5:50 p.m., 7:10 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. to accommodate the massive displacement of travelers during the summer months.
Night trains will roam between Fez, Meknes, Oujda, and Tangier. For the areas of Casablanca and Safi, trains linking Casablanca and Safi will be enhanced and upgraded to provide more comfortable journey for those onboard.
The service at the city of Sidi Kacem and Sidi Slimane will also be reinforced with the programming of two additional stops in both directions.
There are set of people welcoming passengers at stations and on trains facilitating the purchase of tickets and travelers’ orientation. The number of ticket and assistance counters are also increased to avoid long queues and to aid the easy access to platforms and trains as well as the establishment of automatic ticket distributors.
Various travelers like families, youth, seniors and students will also benefit from a reduced tariff prices. A 24/7 information service for travelers will be available in their call center or website.
