In the first half of 2014, total number of NOL cards incurred was 1.226 million cards compared to 806,000 cards last year.
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) revealed that the sales of NOL cards continued to grow noticeably since the introduction of service in August 2009, and during the first six months of this year NOL card sales proceeds bolstered by as much as 52% compared to the prior period last year.
This means that the service is enduring to hit its key goal of lessening the use of public transport means for the community and persuading patrons to utilize mass transit modes by using the three categories of NOL cards (Gold, Silver and Personalised Blue Card) which are exemplified by plainness, exactness and quick payment of the appropriate fare.
