The industrial area located 200 – 350 kilometer of Laayoune Dakhla within the new port of Boujdour has offered interesting business opportunities, particularly through privileged access to fishery resources of the region.
The new industrial area of Boujdour is an area for integrated economic activity, specifically designed as part of the economic and social development strategy of the provinces of southern Morocco. The project costs 80 million dirham and is intended for the generation of more than 600 million dirhams of private investment and the creation of 3,000 jobs.
This project was launched by an investment and development company in partnership with the Agency for the promotion and economic and social development of the southern provinces of the Kingdom, Ministry of Industry, Trade and New Technologies, the National Energy Board electricity and drinking water (Onee), the province of Boujdour, and urban town of Boujdour. The industrial area of Boujdour is part of the new series of integrated industrial parks. The objectives include the development of economic activities in accordance with the new port of Boujdour, the estimation of seafood in the region; to support the dynamics of regional development; stimulation of private investment and creating added value and jobs.
Having easy access by land and sea, the site also benefits the many assets of the region of Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra, such as the existence of fishmongers in the zone of Boujdour to Lagouira; the near Canary Islands housing the main port of the region; the three fishing harbors located in Laayoune, Dakhla and Boujdour and 2 airports located in Laayoune and Dakhla.
