Kingdom of Morocco’s Ministry of Energy, Mines, Water and Environment confirms that the 1.6 billion dirhams tin project in Achemmach, will be launched soon.
Located at 40 km southwest of Meknes near El Hajeb is a major investment of which the first of its kind in the region.
The Minister of Energy, Mines, Water and Environment assured an Australian mining company, which under the terms of the agreement between Kasbah and the National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mines (ONHYM) has the exclusive right to acquire 100% of Achemmach the project, available to his department to support this project, convinced of the positive impact of such investments on the national level, but also on the local socio-economic environment.
“The local component must be a priority for investment. It must be taken into account in any investment, especially in mining,” the Minister said on local media interviews,
The Achemmach project aims to extract million tons of ore per year by underground mining and production of 6,880 tons of tin in concentrate in a modern processing plant method.
Kingdom of Morocco has indeed been found rich tin after exploration and sampling operations in 2008.
