His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates officially ordered the execution of multi-million dirhams worth of development projects for Fujairah, Umm Al Quwain and Sharjah.
Said projects for Northern Emirates amounting AED 229 million includes dams, roads, and power supplies and improved health care as UAE government planned to improve the economies of the emirates and provide better quality of life for their citizens.
The AED 42 million project, construction of two dams and five flood-protection barriers in the Sakamkam Basin is set for Fujairah and will be completed in 12 months. Another work for the Emirates costing Dh40 million is an upper junction of Yabsa Bypass, close to Fujairah Port, to ease traffic congestion.
Meanwhile, Umm Al Quwain committee will replace part of the overhead line from the main power station with a 9.2-kilometre underground line in Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Street, costing Dh60 million and targets to complete within 18 months. Another Dh46 million has been set aside to build and maintain Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Road, which will connect the existing Ahmed bin Rashid Road to Al Ittihad Street.
Sharjah’s health care otherwise is the target of the budget. The government aims to upgrade the medical equipment the committee of Al Qassimi Hospital to increase the facility’s efficiency and ability to provide high-quality health services.
