Morocco is a pioneer in the improvement of the digital economy in Africa. This is what came out of participation, Tuesday, March 11 in Paris, the Director General of the National Agency of Telecommunications Regulation (ANRT) Azdine El Mountassir Billah, a round table on the theme: “The Arab world in the digital economy: the role of telecommunications in future growth. ”
This meeting brought together experts and business leaders from European and Arab sector telecom helped decipher the development of the digital economy in the Arab region and especially in Morocco. Mr. El Mountassir Billah said on this occasion that the United won the challenge of universal access to telecommunications. Lower prices of telecom services are largely contributed. Today, the penetration rate of mobile telephony has reached nearly 130%.
The Internet Park, meanwhile, experienced a sustained during the last four years and in particular from 2011 growth. This growth is mainly due to the development of 3G mobile Internet offerings. The Director General of the ANRT, also assured that technological change has been accompanied by legal reform and the development of infrastructure to offer the consumer a quality service at an affordable price.
