Morocco graced the annual Algiers Batimatec Expo 2014 by its presence for the second time. The event was held on May 4, and will run until May 8.
The event was held to reinforce trading with the nearby countries and to showcase the skills and the potential that Morocco has to offer. It is said to be the grandest show on the continent, participated by 800 exhibitors of which 50% came from foreign businesses including Tunisia, France, China, Spain, Kuwait, and Portugal.
In this event many were informed about the 10% of GDP of the Moroccan economy comes from the construction industry, 11% for the industrial investment and the 9% goes to the national workforce.
Some of the eleven Moroccan exhibitors currently partaking in the event are the Mega Hissotto, the Atlas-Cit S.A.R.L., 10 Rajeb, the Menasteel, Ingelec, Sofafer, the First Plastics Corp, and Medidis Group.
Taking place on an area of over 22,000 m², Batimatec, exhibits a range of products, namely manufacturing accessories mechanism shutters and metal constructions and structures, air conditioning systems, painting, steel products, and industrial carpentry.
Through this event, the companies will have the chance to meet primary players in construction such as the business developers, producers of building materials, and architects.
Along with this event, meetings are scheduled between economic operators to explore and seek collaboration opportunities.
The event is also intended for the discussions lead by architects concerning the information system in the management of tradition and sustainable development in urban planning and real estate.
