Moroccan minister of Energy, Mines, Water and the Environment Abdelkader Amara, and Nigerian minister-
delegate for electricity, Chinedu Nebo agreed on a partnership to address challenges in the field of energy during the 8th German-African Forum which was held on April 13-15 in Hamburg, Germany.
The theme for the event is “new power for a sustainable partnership” which sure forged the partnership between the two nations.
During a press briefing following the meeting of the two ministers, the large energy potential in Africa was highlighted and the importance of solving the challenges in renewable energy was further stressed.
According to them, both Morocco and Nigeria have the same concern in ensuring that the energy supply combining fossil fuels with renewable sources is sustained.
The Nigerian Minister ecen expressed his countries interest in the Moroccan Energy Model, impressed with the latter’s strategic decision to adopt an energy mix with a progressive balance of renewable sources of energy, and for putting in place an infrastructure and legislative framework to promote investment in these new technologies.
It was stated that the partnership of the two countries aims to set clear objectives of common interest, and implement projects and action plans in the field of energy.
