Tourism minister, Lahcen Haddad stated that Morocco is resolved to be among the world’s top 20 tourism destinations by 2020, thanks to its abundant assets, essentially political stability and closeness to major derivation countries.
He averred that the “Morocco bound” is progressively more fascinating worldwide, noting to the tourism vision 2020, Morocco is determined to enter the club of the world’s 20 first destinations by 2020.
He added that Morocco has all it takes to achieve this objective, specifically globally-recognized political and social stability, geographic closeness to the major emitting countries and its attractive business atmosphere.
Haddad further quoted the presence in Morocco of a 3,500 km-long shore along the Mediterranean and the Atlantic, an enchanting contrast between the desert and the ocean, a prosperous cultural inheritance, a good climate and Moroccans’ legendary hospitality.
Morocco has already welcomed 10 million guests in 2013, an upsurge of 6% compared to 2012 regardless of a difficult economic circumstance. The 2020 strategic vision has been commenced by HM King Mohammed VI four years ago, seeking and noting to strengthen the hospitality sector’s share in Morocco’s overall economic improvement and to make of Morocco a recommendation of sustainable tourism in the Mediterranean.
Morocco is also seeking to double the number of guests and hosting capability and to increase by 2.5 profits from tourism.
