The visit to be made by the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to Morocco this 17th March on invitation by His Majesty King Mohammed VI signifies a significant achievement in the tactical and planned relations between the two brotherly nations, according to UAE Ambassador to Rabat Al Asri Saeed Al Dhaheri.
Ambassador Al Dhaheri averred that high on the visit’s plans are signing of numerous conformities between the two nations including the opening of the Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan hospital in Casablanca, Africa Fertilisers Plant and Jorf Lasfar water desalination plant in Al Jadida province.
He also added that the Emirati investments in Morocco accounted for US$ 1.3 billion, whereas 2014 saw UAE’s Etisalat buying 53% share in Maroc Telecom at a value of 4.2 billion Euros. The similar year also noticed conclusion of new power plants for Jorf Lasfar Energy Company, owned by the UAE’s Taqa.
He remarked that in 2014, the UAE turned out to be the first investor in Casablanca Stock Exchange. It also contributed US$ 1.25 billion in the 5 billion grant proffered by GCC countries to enhance Morocco’s social and economic advancement. He also referred to several healthcare and other expansion projects in Morocco commenced by the UAE.
Ambassador Al Dhaheri commended Sheikh Mohamed’s kind and openhanded support of US$ 100 million to Morocco’s national human advancement proposal and his US$ 10 million grant to the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity.
