Basically, the project will connect the Jumeirah road with Al Khail road to minimize the traffic. To make this happen, there will be construction of multi-level bridges and flyovers to guarantee hassle free traffic flow in Sheikh Zayed Road.
Multi-level bridges will run from Umm Al Sheef Street in Al Safa area in the direction of Sheikh Zayed Road to Latifa Bint Hamdan Street in Al Quoz, and from Al Zomorrud Street to the east up to the Sheikh Zayed Road.
The new project is a part of a major upgrade to Al Wasl and Jumeirah Streets, and is included in the master plan of RTA which aims to develop integrated series of roads as well as land and marine transport networks that are safe for users and improve the group of roads, bridges, crossings and tunnels.
A construction of flyover on Latifa Bint Hamdan Street traversing the First Al Khail Road and a signalized ground level intersection will also be provided under the flyover, together with the enhancement of the intersection of Umm Al Sheef Street with Al Wasl Street.
Improvement and construction, improvement of service roads, and landscaping works will be carried out in Sheikh Zayed Road particularly from Al Safa crossing point to Al Manara crossing point and also in Umm Al Sheef Street, Latifa Bint Hamdan Street and Al Zomorrud Street.
The project is likely to be ready in the first quarter of 2018.
