The city of Dubai awaits a new park to be opened for public and is expected to be constructed in Dubailand. It will cover a total land area of 1.4 mil. sq. meters which adds up another seventeen percent of space for public areas Dubai.
The initial construction stage scheduled to begin this 2017 will cover 318,000 square meters according to Dubai Media Office.
When completed, the park can hold thirty kilometers of pathways, twenty kilometers of running track, over fourteen kilometers for bicycle tracks and seven kilometer of nature trails.
According to plan, the park will consist of fifty-five playgrounds, forty-five sports fields, 5 big events zones & area for retail outlets, restaurants and coffee shops.
Dubai Holding under the command of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, VP & Ruler of Dubai, has come to an understanding with Dubai Municipality to build the biggest public park in city.
The main objective of the project is to support promotion on the fitness levels of city residents and establish Dubai’s position being one of the world’s happiest cities.
Dubai municipality’s goal is to attain a density of 12.5 square meters of green space area for every person in lieu with the best international standards.
One of the park’s objective is to also boost the quality of air in the neighboring areas, expedite the conservation of living biodiversity and build a chance to reinforce the urban ecology.
Setting up a green open area acts a significant role in uplifting the standard of life among city dwellers,” aforementioned Ahmad bin Byat, Dubai Holding’s Vice Chairman & Director.
Big cities like London, New York and Singapore, has a model park that symbolizes its cultural & social identity.”
Besides being a recreation and sports training site, the park will also offer a chance for innovation as well as smart-solutions, together with viable onsite energy generation, waste recycling, and natural shading.
The park will also feature smart cards for ticketing, buying and internet connection. More importantly, the parking grounds will also be a habitat for up to fifteen thousand trees of local & adopted species.
