The management contracts for the opening of two hotels, Novotel and Ibis, has been signed by the Moroccan real estate group Mfadel and Accor Morocco
According to the CEO of Accor Morocco, Mohammedia exhibits great opportunity and potential for growth in tourism, both for vacation and business. This is considered to be a great leap in its development plan in Morocco aiming to reach its objective of putting up 50 hotels by 2018 and to validate its leading position nationwide.
The Ibis is expected to start its service in May 2017. It will be furnished with 98 rooms carrying the international standards of the brand. The hotel will also feature three conference rooms and a restaurant. On the other hand, Novotel, is to be commissioned six months later with room capacity of 108. Included in its amenities are the swimming pool, spa, restaurant and three meeting rooms. One will be constructed in the city center.
According to the French hotel group, Morocco is its first African market with a portfolio of 35 mixed budget and luxury hotels, for an overall count of 5,221 rooms in 13 cities. The group declares to carry on its development in the country through a wide-ranging offering blending its economy, medium and high end hotel brands. The entrance of the Accor group hotels in Morocco emphasizes on the management of existing hotel and park under construction by Accor Management.
In September 2011, during the presentation of the new strategy with a new positioning of its economy brands by the year 2020, the Ibis brand is expected to rise up more than 50 hotels, comprising of 24 budget hotels in 3 openings per year commencing the first phase of 8 hotels in late 2013.
According to Accor, the Real Estate group partner Mfadel has been in the market for over 35 years and through their joint venture in the realization of dozens of its integrated high standard assets in Casablanca,Tetouan, Mohammedia, Cabo Negro, Zenata, and Tanger, now develops real estate projects specifically office buildings and malls. The Mfadel group is also made its presence in the education and training real estate, food and tourism expertise by its 4 Cast Consulting firm which supported it throughout the development of this strategic partnership with Accor.
