The Mall of the World in Dubai will concentrate on hotels and retail. This is the first stage as the developer of the project revealed on a report.
Mall of the World has been in the news for the past few days due to its originality and development plan. The mall has its proposed plan including pedestrianised city, temperature-controlled, encompassing retail, an entertainment area, wellness zone and theme park.
There will be 80 hotels and 20 serviced apartment buildings and total of 20,000 rooms. This will be remarkably significant in the first stage, the Dubai Holding CEO explained.
This is a colossal project that will be developed over stages based on market demand. The first stage of the development will be the one situated on Sheikh Zayed Road. It will be focused on the hotels as there is a large demand as well as the retail aspect.
They are presently assigning and employing consultants specializing in a range of expertise that complement our own and to advise us on this project. This will take around six months and then we will be at a better position to announce start and completion dates.
While the company’s own hotel subsidiary, the Jumeirah Group, it seems best-placed to grab hospitality chances, the scale of the project also means Dubai Holding will look to work with a wide range of operators.
