Dubai Festival City Mall’s $400m expansion is approximated to be concluded by June 2016.
The general manager of the mall, Brad Merchant stated the expansion project is up to 70% complete. The construction of this development project will affix 20% more area to the present 22.3 ha (2.4 million square feet) mall and boost the stores’ count to 420.
Report also revealed that the investment will also add a 300-metre long waterfront promenade, consisting of 22 restaurants, to the expansion, which is set to open early next year.
An open air 50,000-square feet platform will be installed on domesticated land from the marina in the next two months. The platform is approximated to value around $8m.
35 stores in the mall have been launched since May 2015 and another 15 will kick off by 2 December, 2015. Meanwhile, Festival Square, which was set off earlier and was launched last week.
