Last September, cast and production crew of Hollywood movie Fast and Furious 7 started filming the 7th part of the street car racing and some scenes in the capital city of the United Arab Emirates.
Supposedly, about 80 to 120 cast and crew, including star actors Diesel and Walker, were due to arrive in Abu Dhabi to film scenes at some of Abu Dhabi’s iconic landmarks.
But, following the death of Fast and Furious actor Paul Walker, Universal pictures shuts temporarily froze the production of the movie to assess all options available to move forward with the franchise.
Walker died after the driver of the Porsche he was travelling back from a charity event in lost control and hit a lamppost.
Last week, Hollywood star Vin Diesel has announced the release date of Fast and Furious 7 and parts of the scenes are scheduled to be filmed in Abu Dhabi.
On his Facebook page, he posted a picture of him next to his late co-star Paul Walker with caption “Fast and Furious 7 will be released 10 April 2015!”
The film made $789m (£482m) at the global box office and Universal Pictures have said they will donate proceeds from the upcoming DVD release to Walker’s charity, Reach Out Worldwide.
