A 40 meter tower ride and multitudes of world record firsts will be launch in August at theExpanded Aquaventure Water Park, To Open In August Dubai’s Atlantis hotel on the Palm Jumeirah as the hotel plans to expand its Aquaventure Waterpark.
The project initiated to compete with Jumeirah’s Wild Wadi park, which launched new rides late last year, and the Yas Waterpark in Abu Dhabi, which opened in January this year.
Expansion plans include new rides and attractions and will highlight the 40 meter Tower of Poseidon ride which will be the world’s largest diameter slide the world’s first vertical banking family ride with a double hump at the end.
One thrilling feature of this is the first double slide within a slide experience, allowing tube riders in one ride to watch other ride in action suspended above them.
Another adventure to try with is their zipline circuit which will be the longest in the Middle East, allowing guests to fly high above the water park and beachfront, the longest river ride in the Middle East at 2.3km long, with tidal waves and pools, water rapids and white water chargers.
Expected completion of the water park will be 17 hectares featuring two waterslide towers and over 18 million litres of fresh water to power the rides.
On a report of new Global Attractions Attendance Report from Themed Entertainment Association, Aquaventure was named the eighth most attended water park in the world last summer attracting 1.2 million visitors in 2011.
Water parks were a natural fit for the Middle East’s climate; they’re a natural leisure solution for a region with baking hot weather, an expert and executive of the study said.
