Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the UAE’s prime minister, vice-president and Ruler of Dubai has approved a Dh1 billion budget to be spent in road upgrades including works in Godolphin and Zabeel.
Roads and Transport authority said that the project will be started towards the end of the year for a period of 30 months. Scopes of works are construction of several roads, bridges and tunnels to ensure smooth traffic flow on the parallel roads and clear the obstruction in the neighborhood.
On the other hand, Al Khail First Road has been renamed Al Saada (happiness) Road and new bridges and tunnels have been approved in sections of the Parallel Road project. Al Saada Road will begin near the World Trade Centre, pass Dubai Financial Centre and end near the Burj Khalifa. This will be an extension to Al Asayel Road and Al Saada Road to support Business Bay, provide more entry and exit options and link Al Quoz, Zabeel and Jumeirah.
Godolphin project alone costs AED 900 million while the Eastern Parallel Roads project at Zabeel will extend Al Asayel Road at a cost of Dh100 million.
