Sales of Dubai Duty Free (DDF) are anticipated to be even in 2015 compared to the previous year because of particular currencies against the US dollar and fewer Chinese and Russian buyers.
DDF’s total sales are anticipated to achieve around Dh7 billion in 2015, according to the Executive Vice-Chairman of DDF.
Asian tourists are the largest spenders at DDF. Total amount of sales are expected to handle Dh7.3 billion in 2016 and increase to $3 billion by 2020. DDF’s average daily sales are ranging from Dh17 million to Dh18 million.
The retailer will amplify sales in 2016 by proffering discounts. It is presently discussing with its suppliers to offer travelers a continuous discount.
This year 2015, roughly 78 million travelers are approximated to go through Dubai International and 88 million in 2016.
The retailer’s sales at Al Maktoum International are expected to achieve Dh50 million in 2015, with daily sales of Dh140,000.
DDF persists to develop its retail operation. It will manage 7,000 square meters of retail area in Dubai International’s Concourse D, which is approximated to commence in February 2016. Concourse D will transport in new brands which includes Tiffany & Co., Burberry and Tory Burch.
The executive vice-chairman also added that by 2022, they will cover around 80,000 square meters of retail space.
