Nakheel, a government-owned developer in Dubai has revealed 100 restaurants and shops will open at its new complex, The Pointe, at The Palm Jumeirah.

The $218 million, 1.4m square foot waterfront retail, dining and entertainment complex would include several renowned brands like Red Lobster, Reem Al Bawadi, Russo’s Italian Kitchen, Baker & Spice, Leopold’s of London, Olive Garden and Longhorn Steakhouse.

Retail shops will consist of Swatch Hamac, PureGold, Marina Pharmacy, Maybury boutique grocer and Tips & Toes nail salon, report stated. The developer also will commence its own food and beverage shop.

The Pointe, situated at the tip of Palm Jumeirah before The Crescent, will have a view over The Atlantis hotel and include water fountain shows and a promenade.

The revealed restaurants and outlets account for about two-thirds of the 148 leasable part, with a total of more than 500,000 sq ft.

Nakheel stated that the progress was about 30% complete. The first shell and core handovers were due in third quarter of 2015, whereas the complete area is approximated to start  in 2016.
