Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) signed a contract worth $3.2 million or AED12 million to supply, expand and commission man water transmission networks in the city.

The development project is intended to suffice the future demand of water in the Solar Park and neighboring areas and will run 8.3 kilometers from Al Qudra Road to Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park.

The project entails the setting up of a 600mm-diameter Glass Reinforced Epoxy (GRE) water transmission network pipelines across 8.3 kilometers, and is set to be fully functional in January 2016.

As stated by the managing director and CEO of DEWA, they tend to seeks to augment the efficiency and diffusion capacity of water supply in Dubai to meet the rising demand for water services coming from all sectors as well as the customers and developers.

Furthermore, the said project will strengthen DEWA’s emergency supply scheme and will further improve the sustainable development of Dubai.
