The Chief Executive of DEWA, Saeed Mohammed al-Tayer stated that the bid will be proposed in the next six weeks.

Press release divulged that within a short time, DEWA will reveal the bid in a month and a half. The award of this deal will be this June 2016 and 800 megawatts will be awarded.

DEWA also revealed that in September it would begin accepting expressions of interest for the plant. However, there is no figure for the amount of the project was released.

Dubai amplified the facility of the second phase of the solar park from 100 MW to 200 MW after getting the least-ever listed value for solar power in a tender acquired by Saudi Arabia’s ACWA Power and Spain’s TSK.

The tactical plan of the emirate foresees 7%of power generation from renewables by 2020 and 15% by 2030.
