Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has granted contracts worth $55.2 million (AED203 million) for 620km of 11kV power cables to a number of national companies as part of its efforts to give good turns to the maximum levels of effectiveness and consistency, and to meet the measures for its electricity supply system growth.
The agreement covers the manufacture and supply of the copper and aluminum wires needed for enlarging electricity supply in numerous areas of Dubai.
The work is to meet the continued development in demand for electricity from patrons.
According to HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, these wires will be utilized in various projects by DEWA and will give to expanding the capability, competence and dependability of their distribution network and guarantee a continuous and trustworthy source of electricity to their patrons. They expect the production and supply of these wires will be completed by April 2015.
