Development and infrastructure projects approved for UAE’s Eastern Region

The said projects will start over the next five years and were granted by His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai during his tour in Fujairah.

The projects include construction of houses at Dh5 billion and infrastructure projects worth Dh1.5 billion which will be undertaken by the Ministry of Infrastructure Development.

During the tour, 12 new housing communities were studied. Under the strategic plan of the Ministry of Infrastructure Development and the Sheikh Zayed Housing Program’s plan, 42,000 will have their home for the next five years.  There are 17 planned infrastructure projects which include construction of new roads, schools, sports complex, health-care centers and government buildings specifically in Ras Al Khaimah and Kalba.

The Emirates Road will be extended up to the Ras Al Khaimah Ring Road as well as the road connecting Khatm Al Melaha and Fujairah.

The Minister of Climate change and Environment escorted Sheikh Mohammad to visit Safad Dam where he was updated regarding the water reserves of dams and the environmental effects of these reserves on groundwater.
