Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has received the approval to build the new football stadium to be located within the area of Dubai Sports City.
Design bids from different architects, engineers and consultants have already been submitted for the stadium has a minimum of 40,000 ground capacity for semi-finals, finals and opening matches.
About six months ago, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has chosen UAE to host the tournament participated by 24 countries. Dubai has launched a design contest for the upcoming 60,000 seater stadium where tournaments for thew 2019 Asian Cup will be held.
The games are projected to be held in two stadiums found in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. According to AFC, the chosen country to host the events must have minimum of six stadiums for the tournament.
According to a report, Abu Dhabi is still silent with regards to its stadium plans for 2019. In addition, UAE will also present the FIFA Club World Cup for 2017 and 2018.
