Tabreed, a national cooling company and wholesaler of district cooling services for various projects based in Abu Dhabi closed a deal to provide district cooling to the theme parks project in Jebel Ali.
The firm announced that it has inked an agreement to make available 45,000 refrigeration tons of cooling to the Dubai Parks and Resorts project and that its work is scheduled for completion by 2016. A firm was already appointed for the project management of the $2.6 billion project, which is planned to feature three theme parks within its first phase namely Bollywood Parks Dubai, Legoland, and Motiongate Dubai.
In addition to the three parks, another called ‘Riverpark’ that will serve as a grand entrance park together with the family-oriented Lapita hotel. All of these are also targeting completion in 2016.
Even though the ground works in the site just started last February, the project was first launched in 2012 and announced that the theme park project will be engaged with the efforts from different studios and theme park operators.
