Contractors are invited to bid for the building works for the Palm Gateway and the Night Souq and Boardwalk in the Deira Islands in December and January.
Three high-rise towers are planned to be built at the base of Palm Jumeirah costing $817 million or AED 3 billion. The Palm Gateway contract is expected to close on January 11. The towers will rise on top of an existing parking servicing the Palm monorail on Al-Sufouh road. The monorail station will not stop its operation while the construction is ongoing.
The first tower with 61 storeys and named as the Tubular Tower will stand at 261 meters tall including 46 above podium level, boasting with 520 apartment units. The 211 meter tall Central has 49 floors and 429 apartments. The third building called Beach Tower will be 205 meters tall having 48 floors and 313 apartments.
The closing date for bids for second contract is 21 December. It involves the construction of the Night Souq and Boardwalk on the Deira Islands which covers a waterfront promenade and a night souq district, which will be parted into four villages, measuring about 1.9 kilometers long.
