The commissioning of the motorway around Rabat, whose works were launched three years ago, is set to 2016 according to the Director General of the National Motorway Company of Morocco (ADM).
It is said that the work progress for the bypass in Rabat takes place at different rates. A cable-stayed bridge over the Bouregreg River is an immense work of art that will be part of the motorway around Rabat. The cable-stayed bridge is at a level of more than 50%, while the average progress on the rest of the section is over 30%.
Concerning the possibility of a change in rates, the CEO of ADM, noted that the rates will be raised to deal with the inflation rate. This increase is also necessary to address the rising cost of materials used in highway construction, especially the cement, steel and bitumen.
On the other hand, it was reported that an inconclusive balance will be introduced in the toll stations automated program indicating that the customers of the toll will have the opportunity to recharge badges via Internet in a few weeks to qualify for this solution deployed at all stations located between Kenitra and Bouskoura.
In reference to the action plan of 2015, ADM will continue its construction projects particularly on the highways in Safi and El Jadida bypass in Rabat, and it will open to traffic at Khouribga Berrechid-section a length of 77 kilometers and will work for the development of customer service through greater investment in new services.
