Uncovered during the culmination of the Gulf Traffic Conference, Ray, the robot concierge, could possibly help the car owners in their parking dilemma in an airport in the UAE in the near future.
The existing car park will be integrated with robots compared to mechanized parking systems where a factory-like facility is intentionally built.
According to the German parking management company, the robot concierge could send your car into a normal car park and arranges them next to each other in an organized manner. With this, it can pull of 60 per cent more cars parked in the same space given that the driveways were reduced in the UAE airports specifically in Dubai airport.
Then Robot Ray works with its three-dimensional scans and has the ability to adjust to the size of the vehicle before lifting and sending it to the area where it should be parked. The company also entertained the idea of baggage drop-offs. It would take around Dh7million to Dh8 million to realized this project.
This innovation entails scanning the dimension such as the height, weight and license plates system with a camera in an area where the passengers can drop their car. Electronically, the passenger can provide the information about their departure and arrival flights as it is synchronized with airport information systems.
The launch received positive feedbacks from the conference visitors.
