Improvements and construction in the facilities of the Jumeirah Archaeological Site are underway making the area more attractive to the young visitors.
According to Dubai Municipality, an extension near the site will be constructed to feature artifacts that were excavated by archaeologists. The site which was established in AD900 will eventually have a 608 square meter administrative building together with a new snack bar.
The said building will have a small exhibition and a lecture hall for students. Seven more buildings at the site will be introduced including a workshop that was later transformed into a mosque, a souq, and an inn.
The new establishment marks the significance of the preservation of the legacy in together with the custom and modernity of the fast developing emirate of Dubai.
It was said that the new compound will imitate the architectural design of traditional buildings, which will have a view over the excavation site, and will schedule interactive exhibitions to draw the attention of young people, as well as instilling awareness on archaeological tradition through educational teaching methods.
