Al-Futtaim Engineering (AFE) has won a multi-million dollar contract from Petron Emirates to give access scaffolding solutions for Emirates Global Aluminum’s (EGA) Al Taweelah Alumina Refinery venture in Abu Dhabi.
The scaffolding and access solutions division of the Al-Futtaim organization will give access solutions for the principal contractor joint venture (JV) – Bechtel Petrofac.
The joint venture will set up permanent steel structures that ascent up to 30 meters above ground. What’s more, Al-Futtaim Engineering will likewise give access to put up a conveyor belt from the steel structure through suspended scaffolds.
The project team of AFE will take after the standards of European EN12811 that indicate requirements for execution and structural and general design methods for access and working platforms, as likewise abiding to Emirates Global Aluminum’s regulations and safety standards.
Al-Futtaim Engineering and Technologies’ senior managing director Dawood Bin Ozair, said: “We are greatly delighted to win the access scaffolding contract for the esteemed Al Taweelah Alumina Refinery venture. Al Taweelah Alumina, United Arab Emirates first alumina refinery, is an EGA development project, authorized to build a greenfield alumina refinery in Abu Dhabi’s Khalifa Industrial Zone, next to Khalifa Port and EMAL’s Al Taweelah operation.
Estimated completion of the project is due in 2018.
