Nakheel has awarded its major infrastructure project within Al Furjan master community to a Dubai based Road contractor valued at $16 million or AED59 million.
The growing community will see the Construction of a new road together with some changes to the current roads and utility network links for more than thirty mixed-use plots.
The plots spanning 1.2 square meters at Al Furjan Phase 2, will receive an additional mix of retail accommodation, hotel accommodation and apartment blocks, and five hundred third-party villa plots. The completion of the project is due to the third quarter of 2015. On the other hand, the 800 houses at Al Furjan Phase 1 have been completed in 2013 and is now a full pledged community with over 2,500 residents.
Last month, Nakheel tendered a 44 million dirham contract for the construction of Al Furjan’s latest retail and recreation centre measuring 10,000 square meters. The new facility which is scheduled to open in March 2016 boasts with more than 20 shops, a swimming pool, 10 restaurants and cafes, sports courts, a supermarket and parking space that can accommodate 360 cars.
