Mott MacDonald has been selected lender’s technical advisor by the SEDA special purpose vehicle for the development of a desalination plant in Morocco.

Existing infrastructure that presently supplies potable water to 900,000 inhabitant in Agadir, Inezgane and Ait Melloul is in need of upgrading. To address this, Office National de Electricite et de l’Eau Potable has commenced a $93.3 million public private partnership for the fund, plan construction, operation and preservation of a 100,000 cu m desalination plant situated on the seaboard between Agadir and Essaouira.

Mott MacDonald will manage the design and structure of the plant and study potential risks for the lender. The consultancy will also be accountable for evaluating administrative procedure, the development of studies works progress and handover process.
