Dubai developer Nakheel has commenced letting thousands of retail and restaurant spaces at Deira Islands Night Souk, the new shopping and dining destination at its 15.3 square kilometre Deira Islands development.
The expansion set to be opened mid-2017 will also feature 96 dockside café and hotels. Situated on the south island, the souk will be nearby road and water.
It was reported that the market will expand traditional commercial activities by extensively boost trading opportunities in the region known as Old Dubai and is a new twist on a traditional Arabic souk.
It will encourage narrow business and free enterprise; serve hundreds of thousands of people living on and around Deira Islands and act as a main appeal for Dubai’s raising number of annual traveler.
Deira Islands is a scale back plan of 4 linked islands of resorts, apartments and shops, which had initially been envisage as part of the biggest of Nakheel’s 3 vast man made Palm Island.
In June, Nakheel awarded a contract value nearly Dh40 million to RSP Architects, Planners and Engineers to perform as design and command specialist on the Deira Islands Mall, which it said will comprise 200,000 sq ft of leasable gap.
The islands will have 9 new beaches and the developer also started promotion 94 plot of property for hotels and hotel resorts earlier this year.
