The Minister of Tourism, Lahcen Haddad will represent Morocco this coming August 2 in Athens, Greece. He will present the advantages of Morocco, at the regional World Travel Awards Gala (WTA) which will bring together practically 500 professionals in the European tourism sector, in the framework of regional presets, before the grand finale to be held in Marrakech this November 29, 2014.
Established international to be the “Oscars of the tourism industry,” the WTA event is considered the largest tourist events calendar of the world and is attended by industry leaders from around the world, representing all business travel and tourism.
WTA has, moreover, extensive media coverage internationally, through a global network of media partners, including New York Times International, TV5 Monde, CNBC Arabiya, Newsweek, Outlook Traveller, Travel & Leisure, Khaleej Times, Trade Arabia and Travel Daily News. As a reminder, the Ministry of Tourism was formalized in Dubai, May 5, an important partnership with the leaders of the World Travel Awards, held for the grand finals in Morocco in 2014, 2015 and 2016.
After Marrakech this year, following two major finals will be held in Fez (2015) and Casablanca (2016). The realization of this association is a great attainment for the promotional Morocco and confirms the reputation of the kingdom as a stable country. This has contributed importantly to the development of its tourism industry in recent years and the emergence alongside Marrakech new tourist attractions such as Rabat, Meknes and Fez positioning itself among the world’s most popular destinations.
