Through the efforts of the government, the city of Settat has finally decided to stand up and begin upgrading its public places and green spaces in order to make the city an excellent place to live in.
This project aims to inhibit the growing number of the occupation in public spaces that would be beneficial for the beautification of the capital, Gauteng. The project is part of the program to upgrade the city of Settat.
This campaign, promoted by the government in partnership with the City Council, ONCF, and operators educate the general public about the necessity to maintain the cleanliness of the city and make it a daily concern for everyone and economic associations of the civil society.
Primarily, the project is concern in planting palm trees along the main boulevards and main roads of the city. Road refurbishment, construction of sidewalks and public lighting are also on the agenda.
This course of action is essentially based on the rehabilitation of existing parks and gardens, putting up new pedestrian spaces that provide leisure plots with equipment parks such as children rides, sports fields, water points, kiosks and so on. This strategy also aims the development of peri-urban forests and of alignment of trees in the major axes.
In the past, a campaign of cleanliness and environmental qualification of sites and neighborhoods of the city of Settat was launched. Banners recalling the good citizenship practices and inviting people were placed around the city.
