The World Bank extended Morocco a loan of USD 200 million to support the country’sMorocco Granted USD200 Million Loan from World Bank to Develop Transparency and Governance policy to develop transparency and governance.
The loan will support the completion of rights and principles of governance have in the constitution and serves to consolidate transparency and governance and boost the citizens’ commitment and access to information.
Last December 2, the loan agreement was signed by the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the highest official of World Bank. The two sides also signed a donation agreement, worth USD 4.55 million extended by transition fund to finance a program to sustain the territorial councils.
The objective of the program is to fully develop a sustainable program is to achieve the goal to target the local council’s access to disperse support services and inter-council cooperation institutionalization.
The governance target program targets consolidation of transparency and governance in the management of public resources and the endorsement of governance through progress of the financial control of public enterprises and institutions, improving access to information and modernizing the management of local finance.
