It was also reported that included in the top destinations are Turkey, Tunisia and Spain.

Even though Morocco-Algeria boundaries remain closed for over 20 years, and regardless of the high rate of airfare between the two neighbors, Morocco is still an alluring and fascinating destination in Algeria.

It was also revealed that for Algerians, Morocco has meaningful and significant tourism potential, including the city of Marrakesh with its prominent square Djemaa el Fna, the region of Casablanca, Agadir and Ifrane.

According to the Moroccan magazine, 90,000 people from Algeria visited Morocco in 2012 and the number of Algerian tourists arrived at 103,215 in 2013.

In an interview with the Algerian daily in 2013, Morocco’s Tourism Minister Lahcen Haddad Haddad was cited as stating that ‘the number of Algerian tourists visiting Morocco is mounting yearly’, and also stating that the Algerian market is of immense interest to Morocco.
